The Inquisition

Tricorne Palace & Calixian Conclave Sealed Schism Files

The Inquisition has no formal hierarchy beyond seniority, reputation, and the terrifying weight of the Inquisitorial Rosette. Founded in the immediate aftermath of the Siege of Terra when Malcador the Sigillite gathered four loyalist mortals and eight Space Marines in the shadows of the ruined Palace, the organisation quickly fractured into philosophical factions—Puritans who uphold the strict letter of Imperial law, and Radicals who turn the enemy's own warp-craft and xenos tech against them.

Beyond the three Great Ordos (Malleus, Hereticus, and Xenos), dozens of Ordos Minoris wage unrecorded wars: the Ordo Chronos polices temporal anomalies caused by warp-jumps (before vanishing mysteriously in their entirety, then reappearing during the Era Indomitus), the Ordo Sepulturum quarantines the Zombie Plague, and the Ordo Astartes quietly audits Space Marine Chapters for signs of Legion-building or genetic deviance.

Sub-Factions, Secret Orders & Classified Relics

• The Xanthites & Horusians — Radical factions who openly study Chaos artefacts and Daemonhosts, with Horusians attempting to engineer a new divine avatar by binding daemonic consciousness into a perfected human vessel.
• The Phaenonites — The most reviled Excommunicate Traitoris cabal in the Calixis Sector, who fuse human psykers with warp-infused machine-spirits known as 'Maletek' constructs.
• The Thorians & Amalathians — Puritan factions divided over whether the God-Emperor is static and inviolable (Amalathians) or actively reincarnating His soul into a mortal 'Divine Avatar' (Thorians).
