Raven Guard

Ravenspire — The Whisperhead Raptors & Pale Nomads Dossiers

The XIX Legion is a study in shadow and tragedy. Before Corvus Corax liberated the prison-moon of Lycaeus (Deliverance) from the Tech-Guilds of Kiavahr, the Terran XIX Legion—known as the 'Pale Nomads', recruited from the ruthless Xeric dust-tribes of central Asia and used alongside Horus's Luna Wolves as terror-troops and slaver-hunters—practiced a brutal style of encirclement and psychological warfare that disgusted the freedom-loving Corax.

Exiling his veteran Terran commanders (such as Arkhas Fal) on deep-space 'Nomad-Predation' fleets into the galactic void—where they eventually became the Carcharodons and Ashen Claws—Corax remade the Raven Guardaround the 'Trifold Path of Shadow' (Ambush, Stealth, and Vigilance). Yet after the massacre at Isstvan V, Corax's desperate use of the Emperor's raw primarch-genetic template in the Ravenspire's 'Whisperhead' mountain laboratories was poisoned by Alpha Legion infiltrators, creating the mutated 'Weregeld' Raptors whose mercy-killing broke the Primarch's heart.

Sub-Factions, Secret Orders & Classified Relics

• The Mor Deythan ('Shadow Masters') — Elite Raven Guard veterans who inherited a fraction of Corvus Corax's innate psychic ability ('Shadow-Walking') to edit their presence out of observers' minds in plain sight.
• The Raptors (Heresy-Era Proto-Astartes & Weregeld) — The tragic super-marines created in the Whisperhead labs using pure Primarch genetic material, mutated into avian-clawed monsters by Alpha Legion viral sabotage.
• The Ashen Claws & Pale Nomads — Exiled Terran XIX Legionaries who went rogue during the Horus Heresy and still rule an independent empire in the Ghoul Stars from the planet Atargatis.
