Art Call Round 1: help us paint the missing Weapons & Vehicles
Lore of the Warp was built on community fan art, and every portrait, plate and banner on the site credits the artist who made it. Some subjects are still missing. 23 pages in Weapons & Vehicles, from the Crozius Arcanum to the Devilfish, still show a plain Artwork Pending card because we couldn't find finished, high-detail 2D fan art that shows the weapon or vehicle clearly.
So we're asking you to paint them. Round 1 of the Art Call opens on November 1, 2026 with 8 briefs: the Heavy Bolter, Storm Bolter, Meltagun, Multi-Melta, Chainaxe, Crozius Arcanum, Razorback and Devilfish. The other 15 are already listed on the Art Call page and will open in future rounds. Each brief explains what the weapon or vehicle is, how it looks in the lore, and what the piece should focus on.
The schedule: you get six full weeks to draw, until December 13. Voting runs from December 13 to 20, and winners are announced on December 21. Each brief's top-voted piece becomes that page's main art, and the overall favourite is our Featured Artist of the Month for January 2027, with a spotlight page and a comments section.
Everyone who takes part gets shown. Every approved entry stays in its page's gallery with full credit and a link to your portfolio. We'd honestly love to see every single one.
The rules: entries must be your own finished, hand-made 2D art. No AI, no tracing, and no official or commissioned Games Workshop work. You keep all rights to your art and only give Lore of the Warp permission to display it with credit. This is a non-commercial fan site, and every entry is reviewed before it appears.
Round 2 opens on December 1, so there's always a round open to join. Pick a brief, sharpen your brushes, and good luck.
