1 / 4 · Click to enlargeOverview
Boss Snikrot leads the Red Skull Kommandoz and is the terror of Armageddon's equatorial jungles. Even the Ork Hunters, the Imperial specialists dedicated to fighting Orks, fear him. He takes eyes and scalps from his victims and is a master of ambush and infiltration.
He fights with two jagged blades known as Mork's Teeth, and he and his Kommandoz emerge from hidden tunnels and jungle cover behind enemy lines. Veterans say he can pass through throttlevine groves without disturbing a single leaf. His victims are left to bleed to death, eyes torn out and scalps ripped away. Snikrot is the Kommando boss of the Red Skull Kommandoz. He is the one Ork that Armageddon's veteran Ork Hunters fear. He was once Warboss Killzkar's assassin and fought Colonel "Iron Hand" Straken on Dulma'lin, falling off a building after a savage duel. He survived to join Ghazghkull's Second War for Armageddon, where his tribe was lost in the equatorial jungle. He adapted and became a ghost in the throttlevines, and swore that even if Ghazghkull gave up on Armageddon, he never would.
Codex: Orks (4th edition, p. 62) calls him a favoured son of Mork, the cunning half of the Ork gods. His two arm-length knives, Mork's Teeth, are said to carry the god's blessing. Across Armageddon his story is now told to frighten listeners, and the 4th-edition codex wonders whether anyone credited with so many legendary deeds and monstrosities could really exist.
Origins
Snikrot was once Kommando Boss to Warboss Killzkar on the world of Dulma'lin. There he fought a duel with the Catachan officer Colonel 'Iron Hand' Straken. He lost and fell, but survived.
On Dulma'lin, he served Killzkar as an assassin and executioner, leading ambushes against the Catachan Jungle Fighters sent to sabotage the Ork war effort. His duel with Straken ended in defeat, but he survived to bring his skills to Armageddon. There he found a jungle as deadly as himself, and made it his hunting ground.
Key events
- Duelled Colonel 'Iron Hand' Straken on Dulma'lin and was defeated, but lived.
- Joined the Second War for Armageddon, where he lost many Kommandos near Cerebrus Base.
- Switched to guerrilla warfare in Armageddon's jungles.
- Became the terror of the Ork Hunters, taking eyes and scalps from his victims.
- Vowed to conquer Armageddon even if Ghazghkull gave up on it.
Codex: Orks (8th edition) notes that as daemons began spilling onto Armageddon, Imperial and Ork forces sometimes agreed to brief ceasefires to deal with the greater threat. Snikrot sees such deals as weakness and brutally punishes any Ork who makes one. Warhammer Community's 2023 article on his new model places him in the Arks of Omen campaign, leading boarding raids on the Black Legion's Arks. It also describes his night-vision goggles, which give an ominous whine when activated.
The Lore of Armageddon series on Warhammer Community describes Snikrot running secret missions for Ghazghkull as the Beast prepared his renewed invasion. He was officially off-world, but his Kommando teams kept causing havoc in the equatorial jungles. Armageddon: The Return of Yarrick (p. 66) records his full return to the planet with a captured Deathwatch Corvus Blackstar gunship as his mobile command base. That makes him an Ork who has stolen from the Imperium's most secretive xenos-hunters.
Battles & campaigns
- Dulma'lin: He was defeated by Colonel Straken in single combat.
- Second War for Armageddon: His tribe was mauled near Cerebrus Base.
- Third War for Armageddon: He was still at large in the jungles.
Personality
Snikrot is cunning, patient and vengeful. Unlike most Orks, he prefers silence and ambush to loud frontal battle.
He has a predator's patience, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He lives for bloody vengeance and takes grim pleasure in spreading terror. His vow to keep fighting even if Ghazghkull abandons Armageddon shows a stubbornness unusual even for an Ork, and a personal hatred of its defenders.

Legacy
Snikrot is the Red Skull Kommandos' boss, a nightmare stalking Armageddon's jungles. To the Imperial Guard he is almost a ghost story, and his campaign of terror against the Ork Hunters has made the jungles one of the most feared theatres of the war. He shows a side of the Orks the Imperium prefers to forget: patient, silent and utterly lethal. Snikrot turned an Ork defeat into a long-running horror story.
