Iron Warriors

Medrengard — The Decimation, Dodekatheon & Obliterator Virus

Cold, paranoid, and mathematically ruthless, the IV Legion ('The Corpse Grinders' before Perturabo took command) embodies the soul-crushing industrial horror of siege warfare. When Perturabo reviewed the combat records of his new Legion after leaving Olympia and judged their efficiency merely 'adequate', his very first order as Primarch was 'Decimation': through random lottery, one in every ten Iron Warriors was beaten to death with bare hands by his own nine squadmates.

Used throughout the Great Crusade for thankless garrison duty and grueling trench sieges while Dorn and Horus won the glory, the IV Legion broke psychologically when their own homeworld of Olympia rebelled and Perturabo personally strangled his foster-sister Calliphone in the ruins. Rejecting religious worship of the Chaos Gods—when a daemon possesses an Iron Warrior's limb, they simply saw the mutated limb off and bolt on a bionic replacement—the Iron Warriors use daemons purely as living batteries hammered inside Forgefiends and Defilers on Medrengard.

Sub-Factions, Secret Orders & Classified Relics

• The Trident (30k) & Grand Companies of Medrengard — Perturabo's three-Warsmith advisory council (Forrix, Kroeger, Falk/Berossus) and the modern rival fortresses of Medrengard.
• The Tyrant Siege Terminators & Iron Circle ('Domitar-Ferrum') — Perturabo's personal cohort of six silent, shield-bearing battle-automata controlled directly by his neural cortex after he stopped trusting flesh-and-blood bodyguards.
• Loyalist Warsmith Barabas Dantioch & The Silver Skulls — The heroic crippled Warsmith who held the Schadenhold against his own traitorous Legion for 366 days and later helped Guilliman run Pharos.
