Rejecting the Codex Astartes and its Tenth Company Scout structure since the Second Founding, the Black Templars train their recruits in the fires of frontline combat. Within every Crusader Squad, veteran Initiates clad in full black-and-white power armour march alongside their personal Neophyte apprentices. Bound to their weapons by heavy iron chains of devotion forged on the eve of battle, the squad charges through hails of gunfire to test their squires in bloody close-quarters melees.
