Lore & origins

Electro-priests, also called "the Sparks of Life", belong to two lesser orders of the Tech-Priest hierarchy, the Fulgurites and the Corpuscarii. They are fanatically devoted to the Motive Force, the third part of the Cult Mechanicus' sacred trinity alongside the Machine God and the Omnissiah. They believe all life and motion come from it.

Corpuscarii Electro-priests channel energy through their electoos and hurl lightning at the enemy. Fulgurite Electro-priests drain the life energy of their victims with electroleech staves, like a Catachan mega-leech draining blood, and use it to fuel their own power.

Electro-priests, also called Luminen or the Sparks of Life, belong to two lesser orders of the priesthood: the Fulgurites and the Corpuscarii. Both worship the Motive Force, the invisible divine energy behind all motion and life. Cybernetic grafts let them conduct electricity through anything they touch. Hosting that power burns away their eyes, so they 'see' through electrical sense instead.

The split between the sects dates back to the early days of the Mechanicum of Mars. The Fulgurites were horrified by how much of the Motive Force was being spent in war. The Corpuscarii took that as a slight, and the dispute escalated into the Conduit Wars, which still scar Mars' surface. The dogma of both sides ensures the feud never truly ends.

The two Electro-priest factions have a long rivalry. The Corpuscarii believe the Omnissiah's power is infinite, and they once spent huge amounts of Mars' resources on crusades to prove it. The Fulgurites believe it is finite and accuse the Corpuscarii of wasting it, both by lighting voidships and by firing it off as lightning. Open war between them is now rare, but political and covert hostilities continue on every Forge World. Members of both factions lose their sight because the current boils or melts their eyes, which the order calls the "Omnissiah's Tears." Both wear heavy rubber boots, because simply letting the energy ground out is considered wasteful.

Appearance & wargear

Electro-priests wear simple robes and hoods and go to war almost bare, their bodies covered with electoos, circuit-like tattoos that glow with energy. Fulgurites carry electroleech staves.

Electro-priests are robed fanatics with bare, tattooed and ritually scarred bodies and electoos glowing beneath the skin. Their eyes are burned out. Corpuscarii carry electrostatic gauntlets and Fulgurites carry electroleech staves. Both are wreathed in a protective shroud of lightning, the voltagheist field.

Battlefield role & tactics

Corpuscarii provide short-ranged firepower, while Fulgurites are fanatical close-combat troops.

Corpuscarii hurl lightning at range and lay down shocking blasts. Fulgurites charge into melee, rip the bioelectricity from their victims and use it to heal and strengthen themselves. Both are fanatical and hard to break, but they have little armour and rely on their fields and their faith.

Corpuscarii project lightning at range and are good against light infantry. Fulgurites use electroleech staves to drain the bioelectricity from their victims and store it for later use. They are melee shock troops. Both are protected by the Voltagheist field and are fragile against heavy weapons.

Munitorum & Ordo Xenos Technical Dossier

Classified under Ordo and Departmento Munitorum threat-index protocols as a primary Corpuscarii provide short-ranged firepower, while Fulgurites are fanatical close-combat troops. asset of Adeptus Mechanicus, Electro-priests relies on a tightly coupled symbiosis between operator conditioning and primary armament. Field maintenance and biological recovery logs indicate that extended deployment without liturgical recalibration or bio-stasis rest degrades targeting and metabolic stability by less than 4% per solar week—far outperforming standard sector baselines—while post-engagement recovery teams prioritize the immediate extraction of their core wargear, neural/gene-seed components, or machine-spirit memory cores before enemy scavengers can exploit them.
