Those Aeldari who walk the perilous Path of the Seer—the Warlocks who have previously trodden the Path of the Warrior, and the ancient Farseers whose minds navigate the skein of fate itself—do not enter battle with mundane blades. In their hands they bear Witchblades and Singing Spears: ancient, rune-etched weapons sung from wraithbone and psycho-crystalline alloys that act as living conduits for their wielder's immense psychic might.
To an ungifted mortal, a Witchblade or Singing Spear feels strangely weightless yet inert, its surface cool and silent. In the grip of an Aeldari Warlock or Farseer, however, the weapon awakens with blinding, eldritch fire. As the seer channels the power of the Warp through the glowing runes along the fuller, a Singing Spear emits a rising, crystalline chime that harmonizes with the seer's own spirit stone and slices through battle-tank glacis plates as effortlessly as silk.
More wondrous still, when a Farseer hurls a Singing Spear like a javelin across the battlefield to impale a charging Carnifex or Chaos Lord, the weapon's psychic bond calls it back through the air directly into its master's waiting hand the moment its work is done.
Design, mechanism & battlefield effect
At the heart of every Witchblade and Singing Spear is a helix of psycho-conductive wraithbone interlaced with crystalline infinity-circuit matrices and spirit stones. Rather than projecting a conventional electromagnetic disruption field like an Imperial power sword, the blade converts the seer's raw mental energy directly into a localized reality-shearing force field.
Because the weapon's destructive output is governed by the psyker's willpower rather than physical muscle, even a physically frail, centuries-old Farseer whose body is slowly turning to crystal can cleave a Space Marine Dreadnought in two with a single graceful sweep of his Singing Spear.
Patterns, variants & doctrine
The Witchblade takes the form of a broad, rune-carved longsword or duelling sabre favoured by Warlock conclaves. The Singing Spear is a long, double-handed force-glaive whose psycho-crystalline shaft hums audibly in flight and returns to the thrower's hand. The most legendary psychic polearm of all is the Staff of Ulthamar, carried by High Farseer Eldrad Ulthran of Ulthwé, whose wraithbone core is linked directly to his craftworld's Infinity Circuit.
